As I said in an earlier post, we’ve decided to concentrate on the farm a bit more. I’m establishing it as a sole-proprietorship (more on that in a later post) and Kaylin is working up an official sign and logo. We’ve started growing our flock of sheep in an effort to produce our own meat and raw wool for sale.
We have 2 new ewes joining us this year, Clairamina and Clementine, from A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm. They are Romney crosses and have wonderful fleeces. Looks like we’ll be keeping Rosie in hopes that with all three delivering around the same time, we won’t have any rejection problems with Rosie like the last 2 years.
The gray in the middle is Rosie and her son, Phantom is above her. He’s a wether that we’re keeping for his lovely fleece. The white and natural (dark brown) are our new ewes.
The lambs are from this April. The two white we bought for resale from A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm and have a third coming in July. The dark brown is Oliver, our new ram lamb out of Rosie. Next year, we won’t have to buy outside the farm for meat lambs.
I know that no one likes talking about it, but we do have lamb and rabbit meat available. Just shoot me off a message or email. We’ll deliver. I hope to have order forms on this blog site soon. Oh, and to our friends and relatives down south and the Midwest, delivery cost is not included but we welcome a chance to visit if you’ll foot the bill!
