Day 5 of the Twelve Days of Christmas

Ok, so it's more than five but I am so thankful for the 500lb rolls of hay stored up in the barn. Matt at Conant Acres is an awesome field manager. He is on top of getting his hay analysis done and always gives me a copy. This way, I know how much grain I need to feed the sheep, if any.

It may seem strange to be grateful for hay bales but if you've ever had livestock, this stuff is gold. This keeps the ewes and rams healthy and the lambs growing. Hay is the staple of this farm. Sometimes, I think it's a shame I can't use the hay across the street from the farm but that is not my choice. At least I can support another farmer in this endeavor. It's not all about me or my farm! We have to work together.
