Hay, Hay and More Hay

Wow. Fall is here despite the warm temperatures! The rams are getting, well, rammy! And we're loading in hay for feeding over the winter.

I can't thank Conant Farms enough. Matt is a wonderful guy to deal with and I get the greatest hay from them. He always has the nutritional analysis for me.

What is not fun is getting these 500 lb round bales in the barn! Luckily, my wife and good friends help me out. You see, it's been 10 years I've been raising livestock and still don't own a tractor! I tried. I applied for a grant from the state of Maine but alas, I must not be big enough and didn't get the grant. We'll continue to make due till sales come back up and I can afford to finance one.
